arrakis 1091

(My first time using Embergen)

  • 3D Real-time physics

  • Embergen Simulations

During my internship, I had the unique opportunity to work with Embergen, a powerful real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool.

I was tasked with creating a short video where I could showcase what I had learned.

Given a timeframe of five days, I had to quickly understand and utilize Embergen to produce a high-quality visual piece.

Arrakis 1091

I created a 24-second short video set 100 years before the events of Dune. The video features several close-ups of a historical cannon, representing the pre-modern era of the Dune universe. As the narrative progresses, the cannon fires, and a series of Embergen-generated explosions are showcased. The camera then zooms out to reveal the title "Arrakis 1091," establishing the setting and time period of the clip.

DRAGON AND OBJECTs

Some The second tests I did were trying to see how smoke that was emitted from the dragon would collide with objects such as the floor and random bloack around it.

The light passing on the smoke was also very intersting and cool te see in real time. These real time simulation are something were gonna see more and more in the future imo. Games, VFX everywhere.

Walking man

Smoke simulations is something Embergen is very known for. What you see here in these video’s are simulations that are not cached nor prerendered. This is all real time playing on a 2070Super. This walking person was my first test.

Embergen review

Despite the challenge of having only five days to complete the project, I thoroughly enjoyed using Embergen.

This experience was delightful and I am excited to create more real-time fluid simulations and visual effects. I am eager to continue working with Embergen and explore its integration with Unreal Engine and other creative tools. I look forward to future opportunities where I can further develop my skills and create even more dynamic and visually stunning projects.
